FAQs

  • Can I buy directly from Red Tractor Foods?
We do not currently sell direct to consumers. However you can find us on the shelves at Coles Supermarkets and Coles Express, Costco, Ritchies, IGA, Romeos, Foodland or online at Catch of the Day. Head to our where to buy page for more stockists!
  • Where are Red Tractor products manufactured?
Our Red Tractor Foods® products are proudly Australian owned and manufactured.
  • Why do you use plastic packaging for your retail products?
The reason we use flexible plastic packaging is to ensure the best quality is maintained over the shelf life of our products. This type of packaging ensures our products stay fresh, and helps to protect them from pests such as weevils. Working towards a more sustainable packaging solution is important to us, and we are continuing to work with our packaging suppliers on ways that we can achieve this.
  • Can your plastic packaging be recycled?
Presently in Australia there are limited options for recycling of flexible plastics. Red Tractor flexible plastic packaging has the plastics identification symbol (7) which indicates the material is a multi-layered plastic. This material unfortunately cannot be recycled through your at home recycling bin.
  • I have a specific question about a product...
We are more than happy to answer any and all questions, simply email info@redtractorfoods.com.au and we will get back to you.
  • How do I share feedback on a product?
We are always happy to receive feedback on our Red Tractor products. You can do so by emailing info@redtractorfoods.com.au or calling our head office on 03 8551 1800 and talking to one of our Team Members.
  • Where can I find allergen information for your products?
All allergen information can be found on the back of the pack of your favourite Red Tractor product underneath the Ingredients heading. The present allergens will be listed under “contains” in bold writing so it is easily identifiable. Be sure to have a look at the “may contain” statement also if you have a specific allergy.
  • What does "may contain" mean on your packaging?"
This is a voluntary statement on our products to advise this product may contain traces of a particular allergen as it could be produced in a facility or on the same equipment as an allergy-containing product. Even though our manufacturing equipment is cleaned after every run there may still be traces of an allergen present.
  • Which countries do you source your Oats from?
Most of our oats are grown in Australia. We take time to establish partnerships with farming families who support our values. We are particularly proud to support Waltanna Farms in Western Victoria, and Three Farmers in Western Australia.
  • Are wheat free oats gluten free?
Unfortunately we cannot label any of our Red Tractor Oats as ‘gluten free’ due to strict labelling laws in Australia. Even though Oats are naturally gluten free, they do contain an amino acid structure called avenin that acts similar to gluten. Some people who are coeliac or gluten sensitive can have a reaction to avenin. Red Tractor Australian Wheat Free Oats are grown and processed in facilities free from contamination of the gluten found in Wheat, Rye or Barley.
  • What is "Organic"?"
Organic is a holistic means of growing and handling food without the use of any synthetic chemicals, fertilisers or genetically modified organisms. Organic farming and production is a completely linked system – soil, plants, animals, people, and the environment are all involved. Red Tractor Foods® have a range of Australian Certified Organic products that have been tested and approved by the certification body that guarantees the organic integrity of our products.
  • What is Beta Glucan?
Beta Glucan is a soluble dietary fibre that is thought to lower cholesterol levels and boost heart health. You will find Beta Glucans in most wholegrains like oats, bran, wheat and barley.
